Students who are admitted to the GU programs may fall in to one of the following categories:

• Direct Entry Student: any student who has graduated from the recognized High School and registered immediately upon the completion of his/her high school diploma.

• Transfer Student: any student who has been transferred from other university to The Gulf University to continue their postgraduate study.

• Regular Student: any student who has been formally admitted to study in the University and is registered in a program leading to credit toward a degree.

• Special Student: a student who has been formally admitted to study at the University, and is registered in only one course, but not in a specific program. Invariably, such a student is taken either one course or two, or all of the courses offered in the GU Orientation Program.
