Payment Procedures
The account office accepts cash, debit cards, visa and MasterCard.
- Payments by cash or debit card are only accepted in person. They can be made ate the cashier's office in the UGC building.
- When paying by credit card students must include their name, the type of credit card (Visa or MasterCard), the credit card number, the card's expiry date and their signature. This policy annlies for the student who to register from out of Bahrain through the telephone system.
- The student's university number must be included on the payment form. The forms are available in the Registrar's office.
- Students who have a history of paying their fees late may lose their registration. The decision on this matter will be made by the Director of student service, who could require that all tuition and fees be paid in full in order to maintain your registration.
Pre-registered payment:
Students who have pre-registered for the fall semester must adhere to published deadlines for payment of fees in order to hold their registered courses. Failure to do so will result in the loss of pre-registered courses.
Withdrawal from University & Refund:
In the case of withdrawal, the GU Office of Financial Service will use the date of notification or the withdrawal date to compute the amount of fees owing or to be refunded.
Before request for refund of any fee, students must obtain a notice from the registrar confirming their withdrawal from the University. The effective date of withdrawal is the date on which the registrar accepts the withdrawal.
Withdrawal from Courses & Refund:
- Students dropping courses within two weeks following the first day of lecturers in any semester will not be liable for tuition fee for those courses.
- Student dropping courses after that time will receive tuition fee refunds according to the following basis:
- Any student, who drops a course three weeks following the first day of lectures in any semester, shall have 60% of the tuition refunded.
- Any student, who drops a course four weeks following the first day of lectures in any semester, shall have 40% of tuition refunded.
- Any students, who drop a course five weeks following the first day of lectures in any semester, shall have 25% of tuition refunded.
- No tuition will be refunded for courses dropped after six weeks following the first day of lectures in any semester.
- Courses which dropped by any students and which does not take place during the official drop and add period will not be refunded for any reason, including medical reason.
- In order to withdraw from a first or second semester course without academic penalty, such withdrawal must be completed within eight weeks after the first day of lectures in each semester.
- In order to withdraw from a full-year course without academic penalty, such withdrawal must be completed within two weeks of the beginning of second semester courses.
Note: returned checks will be assessed a surcharge of BD25.
Outstanding Academic Debts:
GU student with outstanding balance of _______ more will be blocked from enrolling in courses at the university. Unless, they pay all their outstanding fees. In addition, GU students can't receive their graduation certificate until all the outstanding liabilities to the university are settled. Moreover, GU student with outstanding fees will not be permitted to receive an official transcript of their records or be recommended for any degree until fees and any other accounts owed to the university are paid in full.
