Admission Policy
Admission to GU is open to both men and women who meet the admission requirements for the program of their choice as prescribed by the GU University
rules and regulations.
Part-time Programs
Gulf University offers evening classes, once a week (Thursday only) and once a
month (3 days intensive) to cater for students who are employed but wish to continue their education to a degree level. The additional classes are held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday through Wednesday. This
allows students to acquire additional skills by attending the evening emersion program.
Gulf University also offers once-a-week attendance plan (Thursday only) and
once-a-month attendance plan for special groups from outside Bahrain (3 days
intensive).
Special Requirements
- High School Certificate or its equivalent with a minimum score of 70%
- Students who scored less than 70% in the high school certificate or show lower achievement in the placement test must attend relevant orientation courses simultaneously with the regular courses to help them attain their degree in four years.
- TOEFL: minimum requirement of 580 (250 computer bases) before the end of the first year at GU.*
- SAT: the minimum scores as prescribed by the University of London Bulletin. (Optional and not Mandatory)*
*Applicants seeking to obtain a University of London degree are required to have a score of 580 (250 computer based) in the TOEFL test during their first year at GU.
Transfer Students
Transfer students must have a GPA with no less than 2.00. They will also be evaluated on their ability and aptitude in the English language.
Orientation
Direct entry applicants with less than 70% in the high school certificate must attend the GU Orientation program, which consists of three courses namely: Intensive English, Computer Literacy and College Math.
