Authors' Instructions

  1. The journal of Gulf University is a scientific comprehensive journal published by the gulf university - kingdom of Bahrain.
  2. The journal publishes the scientific output of researches from Bahrain and aboard. All papers are subjected to proper evaluation and accordingly classified as follows:
    1. Original research papers which include basic and practical results.
    2. Short communications whose texts should not exceed 500 words, and need not adhere to the basic publication format.
  3. All papers submitted for publication should not have been published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
  4. Papers written, in both Arabic and English, are accepted. A short abstract should accompany the paper of no more than 200 words in both Arabic and English.
  5. The papers submitted for publication should be submitted in 3 copies.
  6. The papers should be submitted on computer disk under word 2003 and should not exceed 20 pages including; the tables, figures and appendixes.
  7. Papers written in English should be organized as follows:
Paper margins 2 cm all around the page
Typing font Times New Roman
Blank space Five lines (single space) should be left blank after the top margin of the first page for conference usage (based on small letters size 12)
Title Capital letters, size 16 in bold
Authors name/names Small letter size 11 in bold
Address of authors The address contains E-mail , position and telephone number of the authors
Headings Capital letters size 12 in bold and placed flush to the left hand margin
Sub-headings Small letters size 12 in bold with the initial letter of each word being capital, underlined and placed flush to the left hand margin
Don't forget Before any heading or subheading a single line should be left blank
Text In small size 12, paragraphs should be single spaced
Equations Should be numbered in parentheses flush to the right hand margin without dots leading to the numbers; a single line blank space should be left before and after the equation. Equations are referenced within the text as follows: (eq. x), where x is the equation number.
Figures and tables Should be referenced in bold as follows: fig.6, table 6. Figure captions should appear below the figure in small letter size 12 and should be centered. Table heading should appear centered above the table in small letters size 12, a single line blank space should be left before and after the table heading
References References should be grouped together at the end of the paper, after the eventual acknowledgement in alphabetical order, a single line blank space should be left before each references.
Abstract The paper should start with an abstract of no more than 200 words in small letters size 12 and must fit entirely on the title page, summarizing the objectives, contents, results and conclusions as specifically as possible.
Keywords The abstract must be followed by 5-10 keywords related to the main topics of the paper in small letters size 12 in bold
Nomenclature If the paper contains many symbols a nomenclature must be included after the reference list. Symbols should be ordered alphabetically with Latin letters first followed by Greek letters upper ease followed by lower ease of the same letter. e.g.: ATC= Area Traffic Control TQM= Total Quality Management
