About the Center

Quality Assurance and Development Center

Gulf University established its Quality Assurance Center in 2008 with a dedicated mission to ensure and enhance the quality of academic and administrative performance across university colleges, committees and administrative units.

The center underwent restructuring in 2016-17 and was renamed "Quality Assurance and Development Center" to reinforce the quality culture and practice in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to improve the educational environment through effective utilization of human and physical resources.

As part of its strategic initiatives to enhance the University's national and international standing, the Accreditation and Ranking Unit was established within the organizational structure during the 2023–2024 academic year. The Unit is responsible for leading and coordinating institutional accreditation and ranking initiatives. Working closely with other units within the Quality Assurance and Development Center (QADC), it identifies suitable accreditation opportunities, manages accreditation and ranking applications, and coordinates with relevant departments across the University to ensure successful implementation. The Unit also oversees the University's participation in national and international ranking systems, monitors ranking performance, and develops and implements improvement plans to strengthen the University's position across various ranking frameworks.

In addition, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit was renamed the Quality Assurance and Measurement Unit to better reflect its expanded role in institutional performance measurement and continuous quality enhancement. Furthermore, the Staff Development Office was placed under the Planning and Development Unit to strengthen the integration of professional development with institutional planning and organizational development initiatives.
