Al-Zayani: Gulf University is committed to serving the youth of our nation and our neighboring country, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Manama, April 24, 2025 – In a significant step toward strengthening academic collaboration, Gulf University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Specialized Training Institute, aiming to expand cooperation in areas such as student and faculty exchange, and the organization of joint academic events.
The signing ceremony took place at the Voco Hotel in Al Khobar, Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Professor Mona bint Rashid Al-Zayani, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Board of Directors at Gulf University; Mr. Mohannad Al-Ani, Vice Chairman; Professor Mohanad Al-Firas, President of Gulf University; and Mr. Khalid bin Mohsen Ati Al-Harbi, Chairman of the Saudi Specialized Training Institute. Senior officials from both institutions also attended the event. To mark the occasion, both parties exchanged commemorative gifts, symbolizing the spirit of partnership and mutual appreciation.
The event also featured the launch of the “Alumni Award,” introduced by Dr. Hisham Al-Marsafawi, Vice President of Gulf University, who explained that the award recognizes academic excellence and innovation in graduation projects. It aims to inspire students to pursue scientific distinction and creativity.
On this occasion, Professor Mona bint Rashid Al-Zayani expressed her delight at this strategic collaboration, stating that the partnership reflects Gulf University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with leading educational institutions in a way that benefits students on both sides. She said:
“We take pride in this partnership with the Saudi Specialized Training Institute, which demonstrates Gulf University’s commitment to serving the youth of our nation and our neighboring country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This collaboration contributes to preparing qualified future leaders.”
Professor Mohanad Al-Firas also expressed his great pleasure at the partnership, stating:
“We are honored to welcome students from the Saudi Specialized Training Institute who wish to continue their academic journey with us. Gulf University is dedicated to providing a progressive learning environment that supports their aspirations and professional growth.”
During the signing ceremony, both parties emphasized the importance of cooperating in the development of joint research projects, exchanging expertise and students, and organizing training programs and workshops that enhance student capabilities and prepare them for the regional and international job markets.
It is worth noting that the number of Saudi graduates from Gulf University exceeds 300 students, reflecting the deep academic relationship and the strong trust the university enjoys among students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
